The Advent Service shared by all local BBC Radio Stations at 8am every Sunday morning comes from the Bailiwick of Guernsey this week.It's led by Majors Jamie & Claire Hill of the Guernsey Salvation Army assisted by the Revd David Stolton the Ecumenical Minister in Sark and the Reverends Jan and Tony Fowler who are the Anglican priests at St Anne's Parish Church in Alderney.Among the music will be that great Advent hymn "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" and a contribution from the Guernsey Songsters of the Salvation Army "Come into our World".For Christians Advent marks the countdown towards Christmas and the birth of Jesus - who they believe is their Lord & Saviour. Traditionally the four Sundays before Christmas allow people to reflect on the themes of hope, peace, love & joy and to pray for the arrival of Jesus as the light of our world transforming lives and communities.So join Matthew Price for Breakfast this Sunday from 6-10am and share in our Sunday Service for Advent from the Bailiwick of Guernsey at 8am on BBC Radio Guernsey ...
